FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers to common questions about working with Hive Talent, from strategic support and recruitment to how an engagement works.

  • If the challenge is simply filling one role, your internal team may have it covered. But when employer branding, recruitment processes, technology, engagement or retention are creating bigger problems, additional expertise can help. We bring an outside perspective and the capacity to diagnose what’s happening, then build and implement the right solution.

  • Six core services, often overlapping on a single engagement: talent acquisition strategy, employer branding, technology solutions, people experience, retention and engagement, and recruitment. We can focus on one of these or combine them, depending on what your organisation needs.

  • Most engagements begin with a current-state audit to understand what exists, what’s working and where the friction sits. From there, we map the journey, identify what needs to change, then build and embed the solution. The final stage focuses on reinforcing the work, measuring progress and handing capability back to your team.

  • As much context as you can. It helps to know what’s prompting the conversation, who else in the business needs to be involved, and any existing EVP, employer brand or talent strategy work already in place so we’re not duplicating it. A realistic sense of internal capacity matters too, since most engagements assume some administrative support from your side.

  • We’re not primarily focused on filling roles. We look at the structural issues making attraction, hiring and retention harder than they need to be. That could mean improving your talent strategy, employer brand, technology or processes. And when recruitment support is needed, we can deliver that too.

  • Your EVP is visible and consistent at the moments that matter, and hiring managers and recruiters can articulate it with confidence. Internal mobility is clearer for existing employees, and depending on the engagement, your technology, contracts and policies match where the business is now. The goal isn’t a perfect, over-engineered solution. It’s something credible, embedded and sustainable once we hand it back to your team.

  • No. The engagement should fit the problem, not the other way around. That could mean support for an urgent recruitment need, a defined project such as an EVP audit or ATS implementation, or ongoing support as an extension of your team. We scope the work around what your organisation actually needs.

  • Our Fractional Head of Talent Acquisition service gives you access to senior talent leadership without committing to a permanent executive hire. We can embed experienced leadership within your business to guide talent strategy, support your team, manage key stakeholders and drive priorities, with the level of support adapting as your needs change.

  • Give us a call on (02) 4504 8627 or email [email protected]. We’re happy to talk through where your business is at and whether this kind of engagement makes sense.

  • A lot of firms in this space stop at advice. They’ll diagnose the problem and hand you a roadmap, but the delivery is on you. We do both. Alongside the strategy work, we deliver recruitment directly and offer a Fractional Head of Talent Acquisition model, so we can be the resource that fixes it, or sit inside your business doing the job.

  • Always. Every engagement starts with a current-state audit, so we understand what’s actually happening in your talent function today. From there we map the journey, identify where the friction sits, and only then move into building and embedding the fix. The right solution depends on what the diagnostic finds, not a one-size-fits-all package.
